Joshua Patrick Allen (born May 21, 1996)is an American professional football quarterback for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL).
He played college football for the Wyoming Cowboys and was selected seventh overall by the Bills in the 2018 NFL draft. During his Buffalo tenure, he has led the team to a total of six playoff appearances, five consecutive division titles, seven postseason victories, and two conference championship game appearances.
Allen had a breakout season in 2020 when he led the Bills to their first division title and playoff victory since 1995 en route to an AFC Championship Game appearance. He also set the Bills franchise records for single-season passing yards and touchdowns, while earning Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors. In 2024, he won the NFL Most Valuable Player Award, becoming the first Bills player to win it since Thurman Thomas did in 1991, and the first Bills quarterback to win an NFL MVP award.
